Who we are
We're a scrap metal yard, on the. Buying scrap is what we do all day — from homeowners clearing a garage or a geyser, plumbers and electricians dropping off offcuts, builders after a strip-out, and factories moving production scrap and old machinery.
We're a yard, not a middleman. When you sell to us, you deal with the people who weigh your metal, grade it, price it and pay you — all on our own site,. There's no third party in between and no waiting on someone else to buy it off us first.
What we buy
We take ferrous and non-ferrous metal, clean or mixed, whether it's a boot full or a full skip.
Non-ferrous — the metals that pay the most:
- Copper — bright and bare wire, tubing, cable, Millberry, geyser elements
- Brass and bronze — taps, fittings, valves, ornaments, cartridge cases
- Aluminium — cans, extrusions, window frames, cast, rims, offcuts
- Stainless steel — sheet, offcuts, catering gear, industrial kit
- Lead — sheet, weights, old batteries
Ferrous — iron and steel:
- Heavy melting steel and structural offcuts
- Cast iron, machinery and plant
- Light iron, roof sheeting, gates, burglar bars and general steel
We also take batteries, e-waste and cable, and we'll handle specialty grades like titanium and nickel alloy when you have them. Not sure what you're holding? Bring it in or send us a photo to get a quote from us, and we'll tell you straight what it is and what it's worth.
How selling to us works
It's a simple, same-day process:
- Bring it in. Load up your metal and come through to the yard during opening hours. Bring your ID — we'll come back to why below.
- We weigh it. Every load goes across a verified weighbridge and scales, in front of you. You see the weight; nothing is guessed.
- We grade and price it. We separate your metal into its grades — clean copper is worth far more than mixed, so sorting before you arrive puts more in your pocket. We price against the day's market rates for each type.
- You get paid. We settle same-day by EFT. You leave with a clear breakdown of weight, grade and what you were paid for each.
No surprise deductions, no "come back tomorrow." What you're offered is what the metal weighs and grades out to on the day.
Collection
If the load is too big or too heavy to move yourself — a factory clear-out, a decommissioned line, a demolition or a bulk run of cable and steel — we come to you. We collect and the wider area with our own trucks, and we can drop a skip on site for high-volume producers to fill over time.
Before we lift anything, we assess the load and agree a price with you based on grade, weight and the day's rates — our current scrap metal prices — so you know where you stand before a truck arrives. We work around your operation and keep the disruption to a minimum.
We weigh it, we pay you
Two things matter most when you sell your scrap metal to us: the weight is honest, and the money is real.
- Honest weight. Your metal is weighed on a verified weighbridge and scales on site. You watch it happen.
- Fair grade. We show you how each metal has been graded and why. Clean, sorted, contaminant-free metal earns the top rate — we'll tell you how to prepare it to get there.
- Same-day payment. We pay by EFT the same day, with an itemised record of what you sold. Traceable payment protects you as much as it protects us.
Registered and above board — the Second-Hand Goods Act
Buying scrap metal is governed by the Second-Hand Goods Act, and we run our yard by it. That's not red tape for the sake of it — it's what keeps stolen metal out of the trade and keeps honest sellers protected.
In practice, that means:
- Bring your ID. We record the seller's identity on every purchase. For larger deals we'll also ask for proof of address.
- We keep records. Every buy is logged — what came in, from whom, and what was paid.
- We pay traceably. Payment goes through by EFT, not untraceable cash handed over a fence.
If a yard won't take your ID and won't keep a record, that's a yard to walk away from. We do it properly because it's the law and because it's the right way to trade.
Why sell to us
- You deal with the actual yard. We buy, weigh, grade and pay on our own site — no website, no middleman skimming the difference.

Frequently asked questions
Do you buy scrap metal from the public, or only from businesses?
Both. We buy from homeowners bringing in a garage-full, from tradesmen offloading offcuts, and from contractors and factories with bulk loads. One item or a full skip — we'll weigh it and pay you.
What do I need to bring to sell scrap metal?
Bring your metal and your ID. Under the Second-Hand Goods Act we record the seller's identity on every purchase, and for larger deals we'll also ask for proof of address. It only takes a moment and it keeps the transaction legitimate.
How and when do I get paid?
We pay same-day by EFT once your metal has been weighed and graded. You leave with an itemised breakdown showing the weight, grade and amount for each type of metal you sold.
Do you collect, or do I have to bring the metal to you?
Both options work. You're welcome to bring it to the yard, and for larger or heavier loads we collect with our own trucks. We can also place a skip on site for bulk producers. We agree a price with you before we lift anything.
How do you decide what my scrap is worth?
Three things: what the metal is (its grade), what it weighs on our scales, and the day's market rate for that grade. Clean, sorted metal earns more than mixed or contaminated loads — separating your copper, brass and aluminium before you arrive makes a real difference to your payout.
Which metals pay the most?
Non-ferrous metals — copper, brass, aluminium and stainless steel — generally pay far more than ferrous iron and steel, with clean copper at the top. Bring it in or send a photo if you're unsure what you've got, and we'll tell you straight.
